Flying Drones in Curaçao

Registration Requirements & Operational Guidelines

The operation of drones in Curaçao is permitted in accordance with national aviation and telecommunications regulations. All drone owners and operators must comply with the requirements established by the Curaçao Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA) and the Regulatory Authority Curaçao (RAC).

Drone activities are regulated to ensure aviation safety, public security, and proper management of Curaçao’s airspace and radio frequencies.

Curaçao Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA)

Drone Registration & Operational Authorization

Mandatory Registration

All drones must be registered with the Curaçao Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA) prior to being operated in Curaçao.

Current ministerial policy provides no exemptions based on drone weight or size. All drones, regardless of type, model, or technical specifications, must be registered.

Operating a drone without CCAA approval is not permitted.

Maximum Altitude & Flight Restrictions

Drone operations are permitted up to a maximum altitude of:

120 meters (400 feet) above ground level

Operations that:

  • Exceed 120 meters (400 feet), or
  • Take place within designated no-fly or restricted areas

require prior written authorization from the CCAA.

View Curaçao’s Drone Flight Guidelines and Designated No-Flying Zones.
