Incoming DSSI Curaçao Civil Aviation Authority

Dear aviation industry stakeholder,

It is my pleasure to introduce to you Mr.Vishal Oedjaghir. As from June 1 Mr.Oedjaghir is the
incoming Director of Safety and Security Inspectorate at the Curaçao Civil Aviation Authority. Mr. Oedjaghir succeeds Mr.Leslie Laplace who retired recently.

With a master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, specializing in Air Traffic Operations & Management, Mr.Oedjaghir’s career in aviation and transport management has already been diverse:

He previously served as the Commercial Manager Transport at the Public Entity of St. Eustatius, leading the Transport Directorate for three years and overseeing the Harbor, Airport, and Security units.

Since October 1, 2023, he is working as Quality Assurance Officer at the CCAA, enhancing his expertise in international compliance standards, risk management, being part of the public sector of Curaçao.

I am excited to welcome Mr.Oedjaghir in his new function addressing the many challenges Curacao’s aviation sector is faced with, whilst contributing to safety and security oversight and the future of aviation in Curaçao. His focus will be on continuous improvement, ensuring safety and security, and supporting the growth and development of our sector.

Mr.Oedjaghir is committed to working collaboratively with all stakeholders to make our aviation team stronger and to contributing positively to the community and the island as a whole.
